Does Kingaru sleep hot?
Kingaru mattresses are specifically designed to sleep cool. We put a lot of R&D into how Kingaru performs throughout the night. Our mattresses use a breathable comfort foam to offset the memory foam layered beneath it. This construction helps keep things nice and breezy and extremely comfortable.
Does the foam smell?
Any new product can have a mild scent upon unboxing. Should your Kingaru mattress have a scent, it will dissipate in a few hours in a well-ventilated room.
Are there chemical fire retardants in the mattress
The Kinagru mattresses do not contain any flame retardant chemicals. Our flame retardant is a proprietary woven silica sock that’s just under the cover. In the event of a fire, the sock melts on itself and suffocates the oxygen needed for the fire to burn.
How thick is the Kingaru Mattress?
The Kingaru mattress is 25 cm thick.
Do you produce custom size mattresses?
Yes, we do! The Kingaru is available in custom size. Prices are on request.
Does the Kingaru mattress transfer movement?
Kingaru mattresses provide more movement isolation than a traditional spring mattress — some customers have even said their Kingaru saved their marriage! We don’t suggest jumping on the bed with a glass of red wine on the other side, but we designed the sleep surface to strike a perfect balance between motion isolation and a comfortable bounce. If your partner is more than 15cm away, you won’t feel or hear their tosses and turns.
Can I roll up the mattress like an airbed?
Kingaru mattresses are intended for permanent use. Once out of the box, a mattress will not recompress back in or roll up like an airbed. If you aren’t using a Kingaru as your primary mattress, we recommend storing it fully opened, on the floor. It can also be temporarily stored on its side.
Will the mattress form a hole in the middle after a while?
Kingaru mattresses are not designed to form a hole — in fact, all the foam we use retains bounce and remains supportive night after night, so there won’t be a valley like other mattresses. To ensure that your Kingaru mattress performs as it should, we just ask that you set it up on a firm, flat surface. Still concerned? It’s actually covered in our 10-year warranty.
Can I use a metal frame?
With any foam mattress, you want as much firm support directly applied to the mattress as possible. Therefore, a simple metal frame with thin support beams will not hold up very well, but one with unyielding, thick wooden slats will work fine. If you are considering using a metal frame, we suggest placing a piece of plywood on the top of the metal to close up the unsupported surface.
